Abdullah ibn Amr reported: A man asked the Prophet, “Which Islam is best?” The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
To feed the hungry and to greet with peace those you know and those you do not know.
And Ammar ibn Yasir, may Allah be pleased with him, said:
Whoever has three qualities will have completed the faith: fairness from yourself to others, offering peace to the world, and spending in charity even while poor.

Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
By the one in whose hand is my soul, you will not enter Paradise until you submit to Allah and you will not submit until you love one another. Spread peace and you will love one another. Beware of hatred for it is the razor. I do not say that it shaves hair, but rather it shaves away the religion.

Al-Zubayr ibn al-‘Awwam reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
Lurking towards you are the diseases of the nations before you. Envy and hatred are the razor. I do not say it shaves hair, but rather it shaves the religion. By the one in whose hand is my soul, you will not enter Paradise until you have faith and you will not have faith until you love each other. Shall I tell you what can affirm that for you? Spread peace between yourselves.

Abdullah ibn Salam reported: When the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came to Medina, the people rushed toward him and it was said, “The Messenger of Allah has come!” I came along with the people to see him and when I looked at the face of the Prophet, I realized that his face was not the face of a liar. The first thing the Prophet said was this:
O people, spread peace, feed the hungry, and pray at night when people are sleeping and you will enter Paradise in peace.

Abu Shurayh reported: He said, “O Messenger of Allah, tell me something that will guarantee Paradise for me.” The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
Speak kind words, offer peace, and feed the hungry.

Hani’ ibn Yazid reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
Verily, among the deeds that must result in forgiveness are offering peace and good words.

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
A Muslim has five rights over another Muslim: to return the greeting of peace, to visit him when he is sick, to follow his funeral procession, to answer his invitation, and to respond to his sneeze.

The rider should greet with peace those who are walking, those who are walking should greet those who are sitting, and a small group should greet a larger group.

Abdullah ibn Mas’ud reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
Verily, peace is among the names of Allah he has placed on the earth, so spread it between you. If a man greets people with peace and they answer him, he is favored a degree over them as he has reminded them. If they do not answer him, he is answered by angels who are better and purer than them.

Abu Huraira reported: A man passed by the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, while he was sitting in a gathering. The man said, “Peace be upon you.” The Prophet said:

A man stood up to leave the gathering and he did not offer salutations of peace. The Prophet said:
How quickly your companion forgets! If one of you comes to a gathering, let him greet them with peace. If there is room for him to sit, let him sit. If he stands to leave, let him offer salutations of peace. The former duty is no different than the latter.
