Chapter 45: Gold rings
باب خَوَاتِيمِ الذَّهَبِ

Narrated `Abdullah
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) wore a gold or silver .. ring and placed its stone towards the palm of his hand. The people also started wearing gold rings like it, but when the Prophet ﷺ them wearing such rings, he threw away that golden ring and then wore a silver ring.
حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم اتَّخَذَ خَاتَمًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، وَجَعَلَ فَصَّهُ مِمَّا يَلِي كَفَّهُ، فَاتَّخَذَهُ النَّاسُ، فَرَمَى بِهِ، وَاتَّخَذَ خَاتَمًا مِنْ وَرِقٍ أَوْ فِضَّةٍ.
