Chapter 91: What was narrated of dry ablution with one strike
باب مَا جَاءَ فِي التَّيَمُّمِ ضَرْبَةً وَاحِدَةً
Sunan Ibn Majah 570
It was narrated from Hakam and Salamah in Kuhail that: They asked 'Abdullah bin Abi Awfa about dry ablution. He said: "The Prophet (ﷺ) commanded 'Ammar to do like this;' and he struck the ground with his palms, shook the dust off and wiped his face. (Da'if)Hakam said, "and his hands," Salamah said, "and his elbows."
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، وَسَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ، أَنَّهُمَا سَأَلاَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ أَبِي أَوْفَى عَنِ التَّيَمُّمِ، فَقَالَ أَمَرَ النَّبِيُّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ عَمَّارًا أَنْ يَفْعَلَ هَكَذَا وَضَرَبَ بِيَدَيْهِ إِلَى الأَرْضِ ثُمَّ نَفَضَهُمَا وَمَسَحَ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ . قَالَ الْحَكَمُ وَيَدَيْهِ . وَقَالَ سَلَمَةُ وَمِرْفَقَيْهِ .
