Chapter 41: Sadaqa of the Living for the Dead
Muwatta Malik 1551
Malik related to me from Hisham ibn Urwa from his father from A'isha, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ that a man said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ "My mother died suddenly, and I think that had she spoken, she would have given sadaqa. Shall I give sadaqah for her?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Yes."
وَحَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنَّ رَجُلاً قَالَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِنَّ أُمِّي افْتُلِتَتْ نَفْسُهَا وَأُرَاهَا لَوْ تَكَلَّمَتْ تَصَدَّقَتْ أَفَأَتَصَدَّقُ عَنْهَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم
" نَعَمْ " .
