Ibn Mas'ud reported Allah's Messenger ﷺ as saying, “If anyone gives liberally to his family on the day of ‘Ashura, Allah will be liberal to him the rest of the year.” Sufyan said he had tested it and found it to be so. Razin transmitted it, and Baihaqi in Shu’ab al-iman transmitted it from [Ibn Mas'ud], Abu Huraira, Abu Sa'id andjabir, but declared it to be weak.
