Mishkat al-Masabih 3107
Al-Mughira b. Shu'ba said
I asked a woman in marriage and Allah's Messenger ﷺ asked me whether I had looked at her. When I replied that I had not, he said, “Then look at her, for it is better that there should be love between you.” Ahmad, Tirmidhi, Nasa'i, Ibn Majah and Darimi transmitted it.وَعَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ خَطَبْتُ امْرَأَةً فَقَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «هَلْ نَظَرْتَ إِلَيْهَا؟» قُلْتُ: لَا قَالَ: «فَانْظُرْ إِلَيْهَا فَإِنَّهُ أَحْرَى أَنْ يُؤْدَمَ بَيْنَكُمَا» . رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَالتِّرْمِذِيُّ وَالنَّسَائِيُّ وَابْنُ مَاجَهْ وَالدَّارِمِيُّ
