He reported Allah's Messenger ﷺ as saying, “He who engages in jihad in Allah’s path is like him who fasts and spends the night in prayer, who assiduously recites Allah’s verses and does not slacken from fasting and prayer until he who is engaged in jihad in Allah’s path returns.” (Bukhari and Muslim.)
