Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah 12
Abu Huraira (may Allah be well pleased with him) said
"Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) was white, as if he were fashioned from silver, with loosely curled hair."حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ الْمَصَاحِفِيُّ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ سَلْمٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ، عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ أَبِي الأَخْضَرِ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَبْيَضَ كَأَنَّمَا صِيغَ مِنْ فِضَّةٍ، رَجِلَ الشَّعْرِ.

llyas ibn Salama al-Akwa reported that his father said
"'Uthman ibn 'Affan used to wear a loincloth reaching the middle parts of his shins, and he said: 'In this manner was the loincloth of my Companion', meaning the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace).”حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ، عَنِ إِيَاسِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الأَكْوَعِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: كَانَ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَفَّانَ، يَأْتَزِرُ إِلَى أَنْصَافِ سَاقَيْهِ، وَقَالَ: هَكَذَا كَانَتْ إِزْرَةُ صَاحِبِي، يَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم.

Hudhaifa ibn al-Yuman said
"Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) took hold of the calf of my legs or his leg, and he said: 'This is the position of the loincloth, and if you object, then somewhat lower down, but if you object, the loincloth has no right to the ankles'.”حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ نَذِيرٍ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ الْيَمَانِ، قَالَ: أَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، بِعَضَلَةِ سَاقِي أَوْ سَاقِهِ، فَقَالَ: هَذَا مَوْضِعُ الإِزَارِ، فَإِنْ أَبَيْتَ فَأَسْفَلَ، فَإِنْ أَبَيْتَ فَلا حَقَّ لِلإِزَارِ فِي الْكَعْبَيْنِ.

Abu Huraira said
"I have not seen anything more beautiful than Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace). The sun seemed to shine in his face. Nor have I seen anyone more rapid in his gait than Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace). The earth seemed to be folded up for him. We must strenuously exert ourselves, while he is not subject to any stress."حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي يُونُسَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: وَلا رَأَيْتُ شَيْئًا أَحْسَنَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَأَنَّ الشَّمْسَ تَجْرِي فِي وَجْهِهِ، وَمَا رَأَيْتُ أَحَدًا أَسْرَعَ فِي مِشْيَتِهِ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَأَنَّمَا الأَرْضُ تُطْوَى لَهُ إِنَّا لَنُجْهِدُ أَنْفُسَنَا وَإِنَّهُ لَغَيْرُ مُكْتَرِثٍ.

Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah 123
Ibrahim ibn Muhammad, one of the offspring of 'Ali ibn Abi Talib, told me
“When "Ali described the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace), he said: ‘When he walked, he moved as if he were descending a declivity'.”حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، وَغَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ، قَالُوا: حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ مَوْلَى غُفْرَةَ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ مِنْ وَلَدِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، قَالَ: كَانَ عَلِيٌّ إِذَا وَصَفَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، قَالَ: كَانَ إِذَا مَشَى تَقَلَّعَ كَأَنَّمَا يَنْحَطُّ مِنْ صَبَبٍ.

Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah 124
Ali ibn Abi Talib said (may Allah ennoble his countenance)
"When the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) walked, he inclined forward as if he were descending a declivity.”حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ وَكِيعٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنِ الْمَسْعُودِيِّ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ هُرْمُزَ، عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِذَا مَشَى، تَكَفَّأَ تَكَفُّؤًا، كَأَنَّمَا يَنْحَطُّ مِنْ صَبَبٍ.

Anas ibn Malik said
“Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) would often wear the head veil, as if his robe was the robe of an oil dealer.”حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ عِيسَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ صَبِيحٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبَانَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يُكْثِرُ الْقِنَاعَ، كَأَنَّ ثَوْبَهُ ثَوْبُ زَيَّاتٍ.

'Abdu’llah ibn Hassan reported on the authority of his grandmothers
Qaila bint Makhrama said that she saw Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) in the mosque squatting on his heels. She said: "When I saw Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) displaying humility in the mosque, I trembled with fright."حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ حَسَّانَ، عَنْ، جَدَّتَيْهِ، عَنْ قَيْلَةَ بِنْتِ مَخْرَمَةَ، أَنَّهَا رَأَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي الْمَسْجِدِ، وَهُوَ قَاعِدٌ الْقُرْفُصَاءَ، قَالَتْ: فَلَمَّا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، الْمُتَخَشِّعَ فِي الْجِلْسَةِ، أُرْعِدْتُ مِنَ الْفَرَقِ.

'Abbad ibn Tamim reported
His paternal uncle said that he saw the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) lying on his back in the mosque, placing one of his legs over the other.حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ، وَغَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ، قَالُوا: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ، أَنَّهُ رَأَى النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم مُسْتَلْقِيًا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ وَاضِعًا إِحْدَى رِجْلَيْهِ عَلَى الأُخْرَى.

Abu Sa'id al-Khudri said
“When Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) sat in the mosque, he pressed his legs against his stomach with his hands.”حَدَّثَنَا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْمَدَنِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَنْصَارِيُّ، عَنْ رُبَيْحِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِذَا جَلَسَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ، احْتَبَى بِيَدَيْهِ.

Jabir ibn Samura said
"I saw Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) leaning on a cushion on his left side.”حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّاسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدُّورِيُّ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنِ إِسْرَائِيلَ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، مُتَّكِئًا عَلَى وِسَادَةٍ عَلَى يَسَارِهِ.
