Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah 21
Abu Buraida said
“Salman al-Farisi brought Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace), when he reached Medina, a table with ripe dates upon it, and he placed it in front of Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace), so he said: ‘O Salman, what is this?’ He replied: A charitable gift for you and for your Companions’ ‘Take it away,’ said the Prophet, ‘for we will not eat a charitable gift.’ He therefore took it away. Then he came the next day with the like of it, and placed it in front of Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace), who said: ‘What is this, O Salman?’ He replied: ‘A present for you,’ so Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) said to his Companions: ‘Spread out!’ Then Salman looked at the Seal on the back of Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace), so he believed in him. He was a slave of the Jews, however, so Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) purchased his freedom at such-and-such a price of silver coin, on condition that he [the Prophet] would plant date palms for them, and Salman would work on them until they bore edible fruit. Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) then planted the date palms, apart from one date palm that 'Umar planted. The date palms then bore their annual crop, but one date palm did not bear fruit, so Allah’s Messenger said (Allah bless him and give him peace): ‘What is the matter with this date palm?’ 'Umar said: ‘O Messenger of Allah , I planted it!’ Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) therefore uprooted it and replanted it, so it bore its annual crop."حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَمَّارٍ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ حُرَيْثٍ الْخُزَاعِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبِي بُرَيْدَةَ، يَقُولُ: جَاءَ سَلْمَانُ الْفَارِسِيُّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، حِينَ قَدِمَ الْمَدِينَةَ بِمَائِدَةٍ عَلَيْهَا رُطَبٌ، فَوَضَعَهَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، فَقَالَ: يَا سَلْمَانُ مَا هَذَا؟ فَقَالَ: صَدَقَةٌ عَلَيْكَ، وَعَلَى أَصْحَابِكَ، فَقَالَ: ارْفَعْهَا، فَإِنَّا لا نَأْكُلُ الصَّدَقَةَ، قَالَ: فَرَفَعَهَا، فَجَاءَ الْغَدَ بِمِثْلِهِ، فَوَضَعَهُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، فَقَالَ: مَا هَذَا يَا سَلْمَانُ؟ فَقَالَ: هَدِيَّةٌ لَكَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم لأَصْحَابِهِ: ابْسُطُوا ثُمَّ نَظَرَ إِلَى الْخَاتَمِ عَلَى ظَهْرِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، فَآمَنَ بِهِ، وَكَانَ لِلْيَهُودِ فَاشْتَرَاهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، بِكَذَا وَكَذَا دِرْهَمًا عَلَى أَنْ يَغْرِسَ لَهُمْ نَخْلا، فَيَعْمَلَ سَلْمَانُ فِيهِ، حَتَّى تُطْعِمَ، فَغَرَسَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، النَّخلَ إِلا نَخْلَةً وَاحِدَةً، غَرَسَهَا عُمَرُ فَحَمَلَتِ النَّخْلُ مِنْ عَامِهَا، وَلَمْ تَحْمِلْ نَخْلَةٌ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم: مَا شَأْنُ هَذِهِ النَّخْلَةِ؟ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَنَا غَرَسْتُهَا، فَنَزَعَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، فَغَرَسَهَا فَحَمَلَتْ مِنْ عَامِهَا.

Ibn 'Abbas said (may Allah be well pleased with him and his father)
"When the Prophet (ﷺ) drank (Allah bless him and give him peace), he used to take two breaths.”حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ، عَنْ رِشْدِينِ بْنِ كُرَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ إِذَا شَرِبَ، تَنَفَّسَ مَرَّتَيْنِ.

Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah 211
'Abd ar-Rahman ibn Abi 'Amra said that his grandmother Kabsha said
"The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) entered my presence, then he drank from a suspended waterskin while standing, so I reached up to its mouth and cut it loose.”حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ جَابِرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ، عَنْ جَدَّتِهِ كَبْشَةِ، قَالَتْ: دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَشَرِبَ مِنْ قِرْبَةٍ مُعَلَّقَةٍ قَائِمًا، فَقُمْتُ إِلَى فِيهَا فَقَطَعْتُهُ.

Thumama ibn 'Abdi’llah said
“Anas ibn Malik used to breathe into the vessel three times, and Anas ibn Malik maintained that the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) likewise used to breathe into the vessel three times.”حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عُزْرَةُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ الأَنْصَارِيُّ، عَنْ ثُمَامَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: كَانَ أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ، يَتَنَفَّسُ فِي الإِنَاءِ ثَلاثًا، وَزَعَمَ أَنَسٌ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، كَانَ يَتَنَفَّسُ فِي الإِنَاءِ ثَلاثًا.

Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah 213
Anas ibn Malik said
"The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) entered the presence of Umm Sulaim, and a waterskin was suspended there, so he drank from the mouth of the waterskin while standing. Umm Sulaim therefore reached up to the head of the waterskin and cut it loose.”حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ابْنِ ابْنَةِ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، دَخَلَ عَلَى أُمِّ سُلَيْمٍ، وَقِرْبَةٌ مُعَلَّقَةٌ، فَشَرِبَ مِنْ فَمِ الْقِرْبَةِ وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ، فَقَامَتْ أُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ إِلَى رَأْسِ الْقِرْبَةِ فَقَطَعَتْهَا.

Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah 214
'A’isha bint Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas reported that her father said
“The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) used to drink while standing.”حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْفَرْوِي، قَالَ: حَدَّثَتْنَا عَبِيدَةُ بِنْتُ نَائِلٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ بِنْتِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ، عَنِ أَبِيهَا، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، كَانَ يَشْرَبُ قَائِمًا، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى: وَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ: عُبَيْدَةُ بِنْتُ نَابِلٍ.

Musa ibn Anas ibn Malik reports that his father said
“Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) had a vial from which he used to perfume himself.”حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ، وَاحِدٍ، قَالُوا: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْمُخْتَارِ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: كَانَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم سُكَّةٌ يَتَطَيَّبُ مِنْهَا.

Thumama ibn 'Abdi’llah said
“Anas ibn Malik did not reject perfume. Anas also said: ‘The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) did not reject perfume'.”حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَزْرَةُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ ثُمَامَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: كَانَ أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ، لا يَرُدُّ الطِّيبَ، وَقَالَ أَنَسٌ: إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ لا يَرُدُّ الطِّيبَ.

Ash-Shama'il Al-Muhammadiyah 217
Ibn 'Umar said
"Allah’s Messenger said (Allah bless him and give him peace): Three things are not to be rejected: cushions, oil and perfume, and milk.’”حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم: ثَلاثٌ لا تُرَدُّ: الْوَسَائِدُ، وَالدُّهْنُ، وَاللَّبَنُ.

Abu Huraira said
"Allah’s Messenger said (Allah bless him and give him peace): 'Men's perfume is perfume whose scent is apparent and whose color is not, and women's perfume is perfume whose color is apparent and whose scent is not'.”حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلانَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ الْحَفَرِيُّ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم: طِيبُ الرِّجَالِ مَا ظَهَرَ رِيحُهُ، وَخَفِيَ لَوْنُهُ، وَطِيبُ النِّسَاءِ مَا ظَهَرَ لَوْنُهُ وَخَفِيَ رِيحُهُ.
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، قَالَ: أَنْبَأَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ، عَنِ الطُّفَاوِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، مِثْلَهُ بِمَعْنَاهُ.
