Chapter 15: What has been related about it being disliked for a woman to travel alone
باب مَا جَاءَ فِي كَرَاهِيَةِ أَنْ تُسَافِرَ الْمَرْأَةُ وَحْدَهَا بِغَيْرِ مَحْرَمٍ
Jami at-Tirmidhi 1170
Abu Hurairah narrated that The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said
“A woman is not to travel the distance of a day and a night unless she is accompanied by someone who is a Mahram.”حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْخَلاَّلُ، حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " لاَ تُسَافِرُ امْرَأَةٌ مَسِيرَةَ يَوْمٍ وَلَيْلَةٍ إِلاَّ وَمَعَهَا ذُو مَحْرَمٍ " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ .
